Abstract
This article, written by George C. Homans, was published in American Anthropologist journal in 1941. In this article, the author evaluates the theories proposed by Malinowski and Radcliffe-Brown on the relationship between anxiety and ritual. In this review, which the author enriched with various quotations and examples, he states that the theories of Malinowski and Radcliffe-Brown are complementary to each other, although they are considered as alternatives. Because, according to the author, these two exclusive writers of the field do not actually say anything different from each other. The only difference between them is that Malinowski develops his own theories considering the individual, and Radcliffe-Brown considering the society.
